Teach instrumental music (grades 4-6) beginning and intermediate strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. Students perform at concerts in band/orchestra 3 times per year. I arrange music for my students’ abilities and interests using Sibelius. I teach collaboration using ensemble playing.  I brain storm with students how to solve problems in practicing.

Taught music basics to ages 5-7 years employing Kodaly method. Do- Re-Mi program includes ear training, singing, introduction to music notation and overview of orchestral instruments. Games and movement used to teach concepts.

-As a classroom teacher (grades 4, 5 and 6) I taught classroom music plus regular classroom subjects.  I prepared choral groups for performance. I developed a program to enhance study of American history through singing of American folk songs.
