Free Initial Consultations

What is a free initial consultation? It is an opportunity to discuss your estate planning goals with an attorney at no charge for the first meeting. During this meeting you will learn what your options are for trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents. We will discuss your needs, net worth, family, and other subjects that could affect your estate planning decisions. You will also learn how much the total estate plan will cost.  However, free initial consultations are limited to estate plans, and do not apply to estate administration, trust administration, general questions about law or estate planning, or other situations.

How long does it take? Consultations take between 30 and 60 minutes. The length of time needed will depend on the complexity of the client's estate and the client's familiarity with trusts and wills.

What should I bring? Please bring an estimate of your net worth that lists your major assets and their approximate values. If you have a will or trust now, please bring copies of those documents.

Is there any further obligation? No. There is no charge for the meeting, and the client is under no obligation to return to this office for any type of legal work. No documents will be prepared during the consultation, which is for informational purposes only.

Why does this office offer free initial consultations? We want potential clients to have an opportunity to learn about their estate planning options.  Decisions that you make in an estate plan can affect your family for many years in the future.

How can I make an appointment for a free consultation? Call 650-965-7300.
